would you be interested in taking an overseas position with a multinational company or would you prefer to work in the home office and have some responsibility for international operations, or would you like to simply avoid this and work for a local, regional or national company?

If you would like to work in an international assignment, what country or region would interest you and what do you think it would take in terms of qualifications and experiences for you to be placed in this position?

Solutions

Expert Solution

I would consider working overseas with any multinational company because being at an intermediate level in the field of Health and Safety, it gives more opportunity to learn the cross-cultural factors and technical factors. It may not be permanent but to get a notable experience, I would like to work in an international setup at least for 3 years and not more than 5 years after which I would work for a company in my nation.

I would like to work in any middle east country particularly Qatar, Oman or Bahrain as their safety standards are high and I could be able to learn a lot that will boost my career. Apart from the technical side, the flight ticket and duration are comparatively lesser than other major countries and in terms of monetary benefits, I would save more money because of the nonavailability of tax regulations in such countries. In terms of qualifications, I would fit in their requirements because a Health and Safety Professional needs NEBOSH ( an international certification for Safety Officer) and at least 3 years of experience all of which I already have.
