Discuss how sexuality is understood as positioned along a spectrum.
Sexuality is understood on the basis of a spectrum that primarily consists of the two things - hormonal explanation and role explanation. The sexuality is positioned either on hormonal explanation or the social roles ascribed to males and females. Some people would say sexuality is related with certain changes in sex hormones. For example, the perception of being a male is due to the dominant level of testosterone while the feeling of being a female is due to the estrogen.
Onthe other side of the same spectrum, some people would percieve male and female as distinct on the basis of different social roles given to them (gender roles) like males to be percieved as in-office professionals, whereas females to be percieved as in-house caregivers.
However, the same paradigm is under the malleability, where males can be seen doing female's job (like cooking for children) and females can be seen doing males job (like driving and correcting technical glitches). So, this is the third position in the sexuality spectrum.
