solution:

It is of interest to determine whether reduction of class duration from 1.5 hours to 1 hour in under graduation level has got any effect of overall understanding of a topic taught in class. For the purpose,10 undergraduate class in a college has been selected at random and in 5 classes, instructor were asked to cover a particular topic in 1.5 hours duration and in another 5 classes in 1 hour duration. A test was conducted on concepts only based on MCQ and test scores were recorded. Now, first conduct Levene's test to determine if equal variance can be assumed or not and then perform 2-sample t test at 0.05 level of significance to test the hypothesis that mena score is higher in 1 hour duration class than 1.5 hour duration class. The result can be improved if the test was conducted for same group in 1 and 1.5 hour duration, then a paired t test can be computed to test the hypothesis.
