Managed care gives solution to two basic societal health issues:rising costs of health care and fragmented healthcare delivery.Since managed care promise cost savings for consumers of healthcare it leads to use resourses in a cost effective manner.Managed care offer an integrated financing and delivery system.The database also allows researchers to measure clinical and economic outcomes which in turn helps to recommend improvements in the delivery of quality care.The network of health care providers - accredited, with credentials and experiences carefully analysed to be deemed as having capacity to serve members with quality care, are readily available to them is another advantage of managed care .

However, the rigidity of rules concerning the choice of health care providers is troublesome for some members.In case, if a member is not fully satisfied with the care given by a particular health care physician and would like to consult with another who is not included in the network available through their managed care provider,the full expence have to be paid out-of-pocket.Sometimes,physicians may skip on tests necessary for members for the sake of saving money and in some other cases physicians make them go through unnecessary treatments and tests for their condition in order for them to make more money.Some people complain,to save money,their managed care provider contract inexperienced, less educated doctors and health professionals.

To make the experience with managed care more better,one has to make sure that he/she consults with a managed health care professional in order to be more informed about the advantages and disadvantages of their service.Moreover,go over each detail to get satisfactory confirmations and clarifications on any issue they might have to make any informed decisions.
