Briefly describe (with the use of diagrams) the Brayton’s cycle and derive the formula for
the coefficient of performance for the Brayton’s cycl

Solutions

Expert Solution

A Brayton cycle that is driven in reverse, via net work input, and when air is the working fluid, is the gas refrigeration cycle or Bell Coleman cycle. Its purpose is to move heat, rather than produce work. It is also sometimes known as the Joule cycle.

  • THIS IS A TYPICAL GENERAL BRAYTON CYCLE WHICH IS A OPEN CYCLE WITH COMPRESSOR,COMBUSTION CHAMBER,TURBINE/NOZZLE
  • REVERSED BRAYTON CYCLE

The joule cycle consist of 4 processses :-

1-2: Reversible, adiabatic compression in a compressor

2-3: Reversible, isobaric heat rejection in a heat exchanger

3-4: Reversible, adiabatic expansion in a turbine

4-1: Reversible, isobaric heat absorption in a heat exchanger

This is a typical reversed brayton cycle

please do rate me good i hope it helps ill clarify your doubts

Use the classical model to derive a formula for the electron’s kenetic energy as a function of its orbital distance, assuming the electron is in a circular orbit. In other words, derive a formula that you could use to calculate the kinetic energy of the electron if you knew its orbital distance. What would be the formula for the electron's kinetic energy K in terms of the orbital distance d.
