Solutions

Expert Solution

According to Popham the desired outcome of a curriculum should be its educational or instructional objectives. These are specific and general aims of the curriculum. The aims of curriculum are assessed by the three levels of assessment as:

  • The cognitive assessment: This domain of assessment deals with the intellectual abilities of the students and measures the various cognitive abilities of the students with reference to achievement of instructional aims of the curriculum.
  • The Affective Assessment: This domain of assessment assess the interests, attitude, and values that is associated with their learning outcomes.
  • The psychomotor Assessment: This domain of assessment seeks to assess the students psychomotor abilities as the gross motor ability and fine motor ability with respect to their educational objectives.

Thus, Pophem's approach includes the intellectual, emotional, and physical level of assessment for the goals of education for the students and also address their needs with regard to curriculum development. This makes the approach to encompass more educational needs of students making it broader and more relevant and sensitive to the educational objectives of the students.
