Marijuana is a psychoactive drug used for medical or recreational purposes. These days marijuana addiction is common among people. The reason for this addiction is availability. The marijuana is easily available across the streets.
Marijuana possess tetrahydrocannabinol and 65 other cannabinoids. CB1 and CB2 are cannabinoid receptors located at central nervous system. The smoking marijuana create a low concentration levels in the brain and leads to a "high " state. Adenylate cyclase is inhibited and the level of cAMP is decreased during this state. Continuous use of marijuana break the tolerance to control the receptor thereby the addiction arise from the central nervous system. The resistance towards such stimulation would be reduced. By frequent use of marijuana cause cravings, sleeping difficulty, restlessness etc...
The addiction is low comparing to other drugs. According to studies 10 to 30 percentage of people who use weeds get dependency and only 9 % of people will become addictive. Rate of addiction is comparatively low. Dependency is common due to lack of production of endocannabinoid leads to common symptoms like mood swings, irritability etc...
