What is meant by fadding what are the factors responsible for fadding.

Solutions

Expert Solution

Fadding is  undesirable variation in the intensity of the signal received at the receiver.Hence the fadding is defined as the fluctuations in the received signal strength caused due to variations in height and density of ionisation in the different layers of atmosphere.Basically fadding is the common characteristics of skywave propagation. In other words fadding is a loss of signal due to change in electrical characteristics.

Fadding is mainly due to the following reasons.

Variation of dielectric constant.

Presence of regional Eddies.

Uneven variations of refractive index.

Variation of effective earth radius, k.

Variation in polarization.

Fadding is undesirable variation in the intensity of the signal received at the receiver.
