What about the process employed to recruit an external leader? How does this process contrast with the process that should be followed to recruit an internal candidate?

Solutions

Expert Solution

The process of recruting a leader from the external environment of the organisation is very different than that of the internal environment. The cost and time woule be more in the external recruitment but the lack of skills and new talent would be there in the internal recruitment.

Thus, the process of external recruitment would start by analysing the market and the posting the needs of the job candidate required for this job position. Regulating and analysing the no. of  candidated that would give their resumes and biodata regarding the same job position. Evaluation of the same database would make the organsation qualify some personnel for further rounds. All the selected individuals would be asked for further test and questionnaire determining their SWOT analysis and their aptitude level. The candidates clearing the round would be qualified for a personal interview and then the most favourable and most suited candidate would be selected further and then after the medical test and all the formalities, the final job offer would be made to him/her.

This process is very different than the internal recruitment process. When there is a vacant position that exists in the organisation and the firm doesn't have enough cost and time to do the external recruiting the prefer the internal ones. The promotion as well as the transfer of an employee who is very deserving for the job could do the task. The firm effectively evalute the employees and their key areas of working. Any of the employee who would getting a A grade in their evaluation is critically examined and checked if he/she is suited for the leadership role or not. After the analysis at a particular time after a year or 6 months according to the policy of the organisation, the promotion os transfer is conducted and awarded to the employee because of his/her hardwork and skills in the person. The promotion is an effective way as it boosts the morale of the employee, saves cost and time and also motivate other employees to work better.
