What is transposition , why the transmission lines are transposed?
please explain it by all details with writing by computer for being clear to read it
The basic definition for transposition of transmission line is to
rotate the conductors which results the conductors or a phase being
moved to next physical location in a regular sequence.
The transposition arrangement of the conductor can simply shown by the figure given above. The conductor in position1,position2 and position3 changes in a specific arrangement to reduce the effect of capacitance and the electrostatic unbalanced voltages.
why the transmission lines are transposed
The transposition under power lines reduce the electrostatic unbalance among three phases.it also used to stabilize the voltage unbalance.
The transposition arrangement of high voltage lines also helps to reduce the system power loss.it also helps to reduce the effect of inductive coupling. The transposition of the conductor equalises the mutual inductance and capacitance between the lines.
Basically in electrical power transmission lines, the conductors arranges unequal space. Thus the inductance of unsymmetrical line causes voltage drops even if the voltage is in a balanced condition.Because of the inducing voltages, the magnetic field exists in the conductor which causes the interference in the line. This can be reduced by continually exchanging the position of the conductor, which can be done by transposition of the conductors.
Thank you...
