from a big data course the question is : what is hyper connected communities and devices with examples. explain it easy to understand. need the answer for my test since book definition is complicated.
From Big Data perspective, hyper-connected communities and devices are the huge, complex, spontaneous, and heterogeneous- networks, the network of networks i.e., the Internet or the World Area Network (WAN); and all the hosts, nodes, machines, or personal and official computers such as desktop PCs, Mac, laptops; servers, printers, storage devices and appliances, network devices and components such as routers, switches, Access Points (APs); mobile devices such as mobile phones, smartphones, smartwatches, etc., tablets, microwave ovens, sensor devices, refrigerators, cars, drones, robots, and other systems, components, machines, and devices all connected to the networks and all connected to one another both, through wired and wireless connections.
This network with all its devices and machines on them are beyond the limits or thresholds. These devices, machines, and networks are in millions and even in billions. Big Data from this perspective, is the study, field, and branch of Computer Science, analyzing, systematically, and computationally of the extracted and gathered extremely large and complex data sets using data-processing application software, revealing patterns, trends, and associations, relating to human, devices, and machines' behaviour, activities, and their interactions.
Examples of connected communities and devices are, Internet of Things (IoT) as every device on the network or the Internet has an IP address of its own and is connected to other devices in either, the same network it is on or the Internet. More things are connected to the Internet in this type of community or technology. Hence, huge amounts of data are extracted, sent, received, generated, analyzed, and processed to understand the behaviors and provide useful, productive, and constructive actions and outcomes out of them making our people's and this world's lives safer and easier. IoT generates heavy traffics of data sending and receiving it. These devices on these networks have enabled people to become more connected. Hence, such a society or network is called hyper-connected community and devices, as society is increasingly connected through the public Internet.
Another example of such a connected community with devices would be Cloud Computing Technology. Cloud Computing is made of IT infrastructure with all the devices, nodes, computers, servers, routers, devices, etc., and networks of companies, governments, users, customers, organizations, making the most part of the Internet and including the Internet as well.
Big Data Analytics is another community. Broadband wireless Internet connectivity such as the public Internet and all the devices on it. Sensors built into everyday objects sending the collected data on the objects' behavior and activities. Another example is, robots, supported by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).
All these IoT, Cloud Computing, and Big Data Analytics, etc., are integrated and interconnected, and thus, in turn, make another example of very huge connected communities and devices. All these become a hyper-connected computing environment.
