The process of amending the U.S. Constitution is an intentionally difficult one. Yet those in each branch of government have found ways in which the Constitution can be changed informally. Describe the methods, both formal and informal, of constitutional change.
We are living in the great Democratic nation U.S.A.
Citizens of U.S are free, liberated and can make choices without any restrictions for their own benefits but on the other hands there are some limitations and responsibility for the citizens to maintain harmony and peace in societies is very important that citizens of any nation follow law and order created by the government.
In the democracy, every citizen has a right to live according to his own will but he/she must follow rules, regulations, and law of the constitution.
Methods of changing the constitution of U.S.
Formal method:
According to Article V changing of Constitution is the two-stage process.
• Proposal
• Rectification
1. Two third votes of houses of Congress.
2. State legislature asking the Congress to call convention(national) for proposing the change in the constitution.
3. It can be rectified by all state legislature vote in favour of it.
Informal method:
federal Courts had the power to cancel out the actions of government (national) if it is conflicting with the constitution.
