How has new media in modernized communication campaigns ? Using a least 2 examples explain how these media modernize communication ?
New media is the term used to describe the advancement in technology through digital,computer and development of network technologies. The important features include digital, interactivity, hypertextuality, dispersal and virtuality. These include the examples of the development of computer games, DVD, CD with recordings of movies, internet, websites, magazines and books for enjoyment and recreation in the society. There is conversion of technology with merging with mass communications necessary for coverage of various events in media which can be visualized by people throughout the world. There was the development of computer and printing press which has revolutionalized the spread of important situation throughout the world. Andrew Shapiro has explained that there is a confrontation of who is responsible for sending the media information to different regions of the world. Neuman said that media has the force to show the events which are occuring but a different view can be obtained by collecting social and economic views in the society. There are audio, visual and telecommunication signals which can send messages throughout the world. The media includes interpersonal media, individuation media and electronic media. There was the development of multimedia, videographics, game and images with precision of resolution in photography.It includes hypermedia and virtual reality. Telecommunication and telephone exchange has helped in the exchange and transfer of information anywhere in the world. There are a variety of websites on the internet which help in the transfer and visualisation of images throughout the world. There are social networking sites which help in the transfer of information to friends living anywhere.
