Big buildings get hit by lightning all the time. Why don’t they burn down?
Is there a relationship between thunder and lightning?
What safety procedures should be followed when dealing with lightning?
“Lightning never strikes twice in the same place”. Is this a myth or a fact?
Is there a connection between lightening formation and global warming?

lightning is extremely hot flash can heat the air around to temperatures five times hotter than the sun's surface.
huge buildings are not generally get affected by lightning due to the protection measures used in them.
lightning rod system is a best method to protect building from the lightning ; if this measure is installed in a building when lightning coming it get absorbed to the lightning rod ans passes safely to the earth without making any destruction .generally lightning rod is good conductor of heat and electricity.
SAFETY PROCEDURE
1 .stay away from doors windows and don't stand in open places
2.don't lie on concrete wall and don't lean on it
3.reduce the use of electric devices
4.be in shelter for 30 minutes after thunder
5. fear lightning more more than thunder
THUNDER is caused by the lightning.when the lightning bolt travel through the air it create little hole in the air ,when the light is gone air collapses back in and create big sound this is thunder.
Both are forming roughly the same time ,but light can travel faster than sound so it reaches first to earth crust.
Lightning is a huge amount of electricity which earths itself by either leaping from the parent storm cloud to the ground, arcing between different areas of the same cloud or even arcing between two adjacent storm clouds .
Thunder is the sound made by the air ,being super-heated by lightning and expands away from the bolt at speeds in excess of the speed of sound.
then lightning is electricity and thunder is sound
LIGHTNING can occur more than once in a place . we have many examples for it places in Central Africa
In reality, lightning can and will strike the same place.whether it be during the same storm or even centuries later. there is nothing which stops lightning in a particular place more than once.if the condition of lightning is sustained in a place there is a chance for lightning at any time
IF lightning frequently strikes on the earth surface it will increase the earth temperature and it leads to global warming.climate change may be a reason for lightning, but even now we don't have correct information about this
