Val and Collins agree that Val will give Collins guitar lessons each week for six months and Collins will drive Val to the grocery store each week. Describe the elements that make this a valid contract.
Valid contract refers to an agreement reached by both the parties which makes it enforceable and legally bound to perform the contract. These can be either in writing or expressed agreement.
In this case, agreement has been reached between Val and Collin regarding Collin giving guitar lessons to Val each week for six months in exchange Val will drive Collin to grocery store each week. This can be considered as an valid contract where both the parties has reached the agreement. Elements that are present in this contract are :
a. Offer and acceptance : As offer made by each party has been accepted by other which is clear, definite and complete where they have agreed on same thing to form a contract.
b. Lawful object : For any contract to be valid contract the offer or object present in it must be lawful that is the contract must not be illegal and must be real. This condition is been fulfilled in this contract.
c. Free consent : Here the contract between Collin and Val is been formed by the free will of both the parties where nobody has forced them to enter into the contract.
d. Intention to create legal relationship : Both Collin and Val has an intention to create an legal relationship between them instead of any domestic arrangements but to form a valid contract.
