The Board of Directors of a national Health Care System is considering which electronic health record (EHR) system to use and how to implement the EHR in all of its facilities. As a Health Care IT consultant, the student will work with various team members at the corporate level to gather information and analyze the efficacy, safety/security/legal factors, cost effectiveness, and cost-benefit factors of two possible new systems to help them decide whether or not to implement one of them. The student will also recommend a high-level implementation plan that considers system cutover and change management.

Companies old systems into a new one is called cutover plan and succesfull implementation is known as cutover planning.these are not identical,some have to be included in order to deal unique ways in the company.

There are two different types.

Flash cut:
As name suggests change happens in a short span of time.

Parallel cut:
this is reliable but more expensive.system have to left its current functioning process and install the new one.

Planning For Cutover:

Following are the components of a plan for cutover
1.Preparing for certain activities:
Reharsals have to be done before to ensure all the team members are taking their responsibulities.Validating checklist and communications are important.

2.Preliminary activities:
Team should understand the requirements of changes and also schedule of cutover.taking care of linkages in both downstream and upstream will come under preliminary activities of a cutover plan

3.Communication:

Than Double checking, triple checking is to ensure high accuracy of project is important and communication have to be smooth and things have to go in a track.it also keep things to the predetermined schedule.
