If Huawei loses their case and the US is able to ban all government projects from ecer purchasing Huawei products, how might this affect US public policy going forward?

Solutions

Expert Solution

In the stated scenario, the US public policy will become more stringent going forward and identify all the companies that can spy the USA, have allegiance to China, North Korea and Iran as well as pose any security threat to the USA. So, The current administration will use the public policy as a tool to identify these companies and shoot them down with different types of sanctions, fines and other conditions. It makes public policy to be a proxy initiative to implement US agenda that works on trade ban against China, overall trade with countries like Iran and North Korea among the others. In the hindsight, It will also help US companies that can fill the void when other major competitors are forced to move out of the USA. So, the public policy is acting to solve more than one objective that is not only to find suspected companies and put them out , but also to create space for the domestic US based companies to grow.
