What is your opinion of an expat in your office being paid more than you when you are both doing the same job? Explain your answer.
How would you trade off quality of life issues and perks against salary? If salary is your objective, why?

I will totally oppose the fact that an expatriate is being paid more than me even when the job and responsibilities are same. In my opinion it would be completely unfair to treat two employees unequally when the job is same. It will be against the equity principle and no matter what the nature or background of situation, violating equity is unjustified. If there is no such reasonable factor such as the capabilities, performance outcome, participation level, accomplishment of targets etc the basis for such inequality then it is unreasonable to pay differently. However if equity is attained by paying differently then the situation is different.

Quality of life issues and perks are very integral part of any employees work life and an employee gets to know the importance of them only when they are absent, overlooked or not available. Man works to accomplish desires and to be happy, and with good salary but stressed life he can never be happy Good salary does not suffice the desires of an individual. As it is said, we need to work for loving, not live for working, therefore my inclination will be towards perks and quality of life because it is better to have less salary along with accomplishing desires even if it is a slow process,,, rather than to consume each day and energy into stuff which does not lead you to the outcome that you desired and worked for.

If I had to give up some percentage of salary it would most probably be 30% , which I can utilise improving quality of my life and for receiving perks that I value because a healthy mind can work efficiently when it is most peaceful, satisfied, chaos free and sound , the state which can only be attained when person is able to meet his responsibilities and accomplish his desires. So 30% of my salary would be easily given up for perks and quality of life without regret or difficulty because that 70% will be only useful and meeting it's purpose when i attain the state which will keep me happy
