two hundred words The best hope for avoiding the need for health care rationing and at the same time improving quality of life for the elderly in this country is to integrate public health measure with the medical system to prevent chronic disease. Discuss some strategies to do this.

Chronic diseases like heart disease, stroke, cancer , diabetes , respiratory conditions are the main leading causes od death and disability.it is important to bring awareness in people about these diseases and their prevention.

The four modifiable risk factors are the main contributors of these chronic diseases.

1.Excessive Alcohol Consumption

2.Smoking/Tobacco use

3. Lack of physical activity/Obesity

4.Poor Nutrition

Life style modifications are very important. It is not a thing that comes in one day.Each individual should make effort

to maintain their health to optimum level.

It is important to note that anything is good only when it us used at its limit. Excessive alcohol consumption leads to many health problems.people should be educated about the dangers and should be motivated to quit drinking if they are already ill.

Because of sedentary life style,now a days Obesity is the major problem . People should be educated to do physical activity and atleast 30 min of execise/walk for 5 days in week.

Poor nutition is another cause. Consuming junk foods places at risk for diseases. It is also important to eat right food at right quantity. Balanced diet is very important to maintain a good health.People should be educated about the nutritious diet and should be encouraged to take diet rich in Proteins, vitamins, minerals etc.

Tobacco usage causes many diseases. Cancers are more common.As there is saying like Prevention is better than cure, people should be educated about the serious adverse effects of tobacco usage.

Bringing awareness makes a lot difference in lifestyle and helps to adapt a healthy lifestyle.

it is each individual right to live their life to optimum. Health education helps to know better.

The medical system should impement measures to educate the people and to support them to maintain their health.
