Judith and Eric Sultan own a business providing HR decision-making expertise to employers across the nation. The name of their business is HRM Analysis Services. Their business is located in Phoenix and has grown exponentially since 2005. Up to this point they have not had their own employees, but instead hired established consultants (often called management analysts) to work on a project-by-project basis.
They want to hire three full-time management analysts to work in three different locations: San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Miami. The analysts would scout out work in their designated regions and manage the contracting and oversight of contractual consultants.
Judith and Eric plan to keep ownership of the company, but want to step away from the day-to-day as soon as the business is working well enough without them.
The focus of this assignment is to assist Judith and Eric with the selection of three Management Analysts by coming up with a weighted formula of important selection factors.
Different companies use different type of criterias to select employees. The selection process and a good selection is important for the organization. because:
The important Selection factors for management analysts are:
1. First of all the criteria should be developed what the organization needs in the employee.
2. Job specifications, essential criteria should be mentioned, the requirement of education they should possess.
3. Application review and resume review should be based on the criterias that the company has set.
4. The next step is to interview the employees to know further details about them. determining what kind of interview will be taken, developing the questions to be asked.
5. A set of good interview questions to be asked- which includes to inquire about their experience, skills, work ethics, and how they will tackle a certain situation. Should not ask any irrelevant questions.
6. The candidates should understand the organization background, the company's size, organization culture and work type.
7. All the candidates should be asked questions in unbiased way and equally.
8. Personality test, work sample review and other relevant tests should be there to deeply analyze the skills of the employees rather than judging them on the basis of first impression and stereo types.
9. Systematic selection method should be there, should not select candidate on the basis of gut feeling. Selecting a good selection method.
10. Last step is to negotiate and giving the offer letter.
