In recent years, the number of the working mothers has increased
at AGE limited and they struggle to balance their time between work
and family responsibilities. As a result, their morale is low and
they are not motivated to work. Discuss four techniques Tom can
apply in motivating working mothers in the company.
Working mothers are very important part of workforce in every organization. They almost are more than half of the strength among total employees. Women have greater responsibilities both at home and at company. They have to balance between work and personal life and it is difficult even more after child birth because they have to balance emotional aspects as well. Working mothers do not only expect regular raise alone but also should be accommadated with facilities which will make them retain in the organization. Providing such options will make them work with satisfaction and the overall result would be highly appreciable. Some facilities they can be given are
1. Flexible work time - working mothers should not be forced to follow fixed and regular time schedule. Instead they can be offered flexible work hours for which they can personally plan and adopt themselves. It will give them time for personal needs.
2. Offering childcare help. Many of the working mothers face the problem of arranging a caretaker to look after their kids. Such type of arrangements also cannot be trusted to the core. So the organization can built creche within their campus and offer childcare help to mothers. This will make the working mothers peaceful and they wil fully concentrate on their job .
3. Paid vacation- Many working mothers need more time to spend with their family. Many organizations do not offer much vacation period for the employees. If such vacations are given to working mothers they will spend time with their families and on return they will be fully energised and grateful to the organization. Their productivity will reflect their trust in the organization.
4. Financial Aid - working women will have more commitment towards their family. They will grateful if financial help can be given to them along with regular perks and raises. This thought from the management will build trust among the employees and the employees also will feel they are part of the organization.
