The first part of 19th Century was a period of Second Industrial Revolution which brought transformation in the society and especially in the lives of the women.Following changes affected the lives of women :

  • Second Industrial Revolution: Due to Industrial Revolution many new industries were established and provided ample of job opportunities towomen in the society. Women became an important part of the workforce. It changed their lifestyle and they became relatively more independent and with much of freedom.
  • Abolition of Slavery : Many of the women who were leading a miserable life before, became quite relaxed and started leading life in an independent way as the slavery was abolished from various regions of the world.
  • An important factor in the production : Women became an important factor in the prodcution and service industry as they entered in the workforce.
  • Increased Globalization : Globalization allowed the women to move from one country to another and started contributing towards the world economy.
