1) Answer is Discriminative validity
Explanation :-
Construct validity refers to whether a scale or test measures the construct adequately. An example could be a doctor testing the effectiveness of painkillers on chronic back sufferers.whereas Discriminant validity tests whether believed unrelated constructs are, in fact, unrelated , in other words less correlated. Take an example ,suppose construct validity studies to scale/measure the esteem and intelligence on certain issue , there Discriminant validity would ensure that, in the study, the non-overlapping factors do not overlap i.e self esteem and intelligence.
2) Answer is attrition
Explanation - Extraneous variable are those variable which are not independent but could affect the experiment and its results. In other words these are any variables that you are not studying intentionally in your experiments but they have effects on your tests or experiments.
Extraneous Variable are generally of four types
1) Situational Variable
2) Participants Variable
3) Investigator Effects
4)Demand characteristics
History and philosophy may act as a clues in experiment which convey the participants the purpose of research .i.e Participant interpretation of what is going on in the situation can be affected by both philosophy and history aspects , Hence both of this categorised as Demand characteristics .
Maturation on the other hand refers to the action of becoming mature , hence he maybe considered as more intelligent than other participants in the experiment , here maturation acts as an independent variable but can affect the results of experiment indirectly . It can be characterized under person variable of Extraneous Variable .
Attrition is a process in which workforce dimnish at company ,where number of people resign or retire . This situation can't be defined as variable which changes or influence the experiment in indirect way .
