Compare and contrast the concepts of union substitution and union suppression
Union: A Union is formed by a set of employees in an organization and the main purpose of forming a union is to improve workplace and employee growth.
Advantages of union:
· Chance of negotiation on certain issues will be considered.
· Increases employee retention.
· Focus in employee growth.
· Good Benefits.
· Better Workplace.
· Gigantic equality.
Union Suppression: In any company, the management team will try its best to avoid the concept of unionization. Few firms don’t encourage it. So if any situation occurs relating to this unionization, they prefer to suppress it by acting as victims and threats to employees or else they simply relocate the company.
Union Substitution: In general substitution means “replacement”. In few organizations, management replaces the conditions that would induce the workers to catch in the concept of trade unions but it aims to reduce worker dissatisfaction.
Comparison between union suppression and union substitution:
· Union substitution aims to reduce worker dissatisfaction by opting different techniques where as union suppression is least interested to explain anything to anyone.
· Union substitution tries for a better workplace, but union suppression always thinks about relocating its company.
· Union suppression is complex, whereas union substitution is simple to understand but difficult to follow.
· Both union substitution and union suppression always tend to stop the concept of unionization.
