Thanks for posting this question. Both are the opposite articles, the articles of mashables tell us about how we are unnecessarily dependant upon internet and how we used to live our life peacefully before internet. Whereas the article of Wegner and Ward state about benefit of internet, which states about how life has become easy, how siri or any such device is making things easier. We can also store all the information on cloud or on any hard disc

In Rebecca Hiscott's article 8 points are mentioned about how internet is hampering our brain. i would just summarize the 8 points in my own words. 1)People have started dreaming in colour, earlier people used to dream in B& W 2)People are experiencing fear of missing out (FOMO) people earlier never used to party regularly on weekends but now they have started partying just to post the pics on the instagram, facebook and post endless videos of friends just to feel secure. 3) People have got conditioned to phone vibration, they would even feel that it is vibrating when actually it is not. People put vibration to everything from calls to a single whatssapp message. 4) The article mentions that people used to sleep peacefully, but now they can not sleep unless they watch their mobiles, the blue light emitted by any electric device such as phone and laptop is quite disturbing to health also 5) She also mentions that due to GPS, Phone memory we are hardly using our memory. 6 and 7) We have improved our visual skills due to games, or are able to see the colour difference but we have become more impulsive and go on finding the differences. 8) The artist have become more and more creative due to computers and internet, they can just create whatever they want.

Wegner's article state that 1) We have got a new partner in form of internet we can store our old photos etc as compared to our memories. 2) Internet is our friend who knows everything, for eg: we can almost ask anything about today's weather forecast, any country's flag, currency, it is always available for us unlike real friend. 3) People who use google do have cognitive high esteem.

In the end I believe that we should know when to stop using the internet. We should also play with our brain unlike the computers or internet. We should balance between the both.
