As per jobs characteristic model which was developed by Harvard
psychology professor J. Richard Hackman and Tulane University
professor Greg R. Oldham, with the help of some vital elements,
jobs can be redesigned by the employers in such a manner that it
motivates the employees and provide them the job satisfaction.
Employees can be motivated with the help of these vital factor to
see a job through from the initial point to the end. Apart from
these, the other factors which can play a significant role in job
satisfaction are the various activities which contribute directly
to the organizations and the evaluation and feedback mechanism
which is implemented once the activities and tasks are finished by
the employees. By providing the following elements, this can be
accomplished:-
Providing the additional responsibility and authorities to the
employees.Explaining the employees about the significance of their
job.
Providing them various challenges and opportunity
From the following methods job can be used to redesign :-
Job Enrichment:- The focus remains on increasing the extent to which the employee controls the planning, execution and evaluation of the work.
Job Rotation:- In this method employees are shifted from one designation or responsibility to other.
Mutual Assistance Program:- Employees are must be motivated to help each other in order to accomplish their own tasks.
*Alternative work arrangements can motivate the employees by facilitating them the following facilities:-
*Flexibility of working hours.
Mutually sharing of different tasks and responsibilities.
*Work from home or telecommunication .
*Balance between job and family related issues.
*Sufficient time personal assignment's.
