Expert Solution

Sol:

The correct option is , The company’s database is corrupted with no backup facilities .

This option represents the greatest risk . why because a company's very very important part is its database. A database having the entire datas and information of the company , so the corruption of the database will result a major loss of important datas. since the DBMS has no backup facilities , its very difficult to get back the loss datas.

The other options holds wrong why because,

The director of IT (a key employee) resigned :

The resignation of the director does not create a major risk , the role can be assigned to other well qualified person.

since the importance is less we can avoid this option from the high risk factor.

An IT hardware failure occurred :

The failed hardware can be changed. There are available security peoples to check the condition of the systems and correct it.

The president of the company was fired for embezzlement :

This belongs to one important security issue , a president should not be a part of embezzlement. However still the important data and information regarding the company available . The new president and team can resolve the problems created by the ex president. so this option can be included into less risk factor.
