a) Expansion slot can be defined as an extra slot or socket present in the motherboard of a computer where the required cards (eg video card, NIC, sound card, memory card) are inserted or connected. These expansion slots enhances the functionality of the system when in need.

b) There are various cards available for different purpose, video card or graphics card enables the system to display images,video in the monitor screen, sound card provides audio.

c) Network interface card (NIC) enables to connect internet through ethernet cable , for memory there are expansion slots for RAM also, which will eventually increase the computational speed.

d) Wireless network adapter or cards are the USB connector device which enables the WiFi networks to connect to the system.

e) SD card which stands for secure digital card is a small memory storage device which is used by many other devices to store data. It is a flash memory which is inserted in a device to store and retrieve data.
