What might be done about the problem of the Fetal Alcohol Society in society? Clearly these women do not want a baby with FAS; so why can't they stop drinking? What might it be like to be a person with FAS as a child, teen, or adult? A thought/reaction of your own on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome
Fetal Alcohol syndrome is a fetal developmental problem that causes abnormal growth and development of the child, and this happens owing to the abuse of alcohol when the mother is pregnant with the child. The abnormality usually varies from case to case in terms of intensity, but the characteristic features are abnormal physical features - impacts growth, facial features, height - and abmormal mental development - such as low IQ, learning disabilities, impaired speech, can also have an impact on sense organs predominantly visual and auditory spectrum.
If mothers are alcoholics, it becomes all the more tough to quit the intake of alcohol despite knowing the consequences, as one is addicted.
It is potentially tough for these children to merge well socially as they are mentally impaired and also look distinct in terms of appearance - however, as mentioned above, this can vary from case to case in terms of intensity of physical and mental abnormalities.
