Solution: Critical
thinking as the name suggests is thinking critically, that is
analysing as well as thinking logically and rationally to arrive to
better conclusions and results than those who do things without
thinking. Critical thinking is something which increases interest
and curiosity in absolutely anything and everything. A critical
thinker is much aware of the risks and benefits associated with any
decision as he has thought too much and explore many options for
the same. Critical thinking is logical which means that all the
facts and figures related to any big decision or project are
considered.
For a student studying in a course, critical thinking plays a
crucial role.
- Critical thinking enables the student to be a quick problem
solver as thinking critically boosts up the problem solving
abilities of a person
- The student can think of all possible ways, this may also be
defined as the mind is open towards all ways and options.
- Decision making abilities are enhanced since when a student
thinks of a way of solving a problem or plans a way of doing
his/her project he makes decision for himself/herself and also
becomes independent.
- Critical thinking gives an opportunity to explore to new ideas
and new things. When a student is critically thinking and logically
analysing things, he/she can explore many new fields and topics
which he/she may not be aware before.
- Critical thinking is a skill not everyone can learn or have. It
is the ability to think, learn and then act according to the
decisions made up by thinking critically. For a student studying in
a course, his/her awareness, activeness of his/her mind affects the
performance.
- A critical thinker is able to find optimal solutions to many
problems because his way of thinking is different from others.
A student who is a critical thinker acts and takes more
efficient steps rather than a student who just do things without
thinking. Therefore critical thinking plays a very important
role.
