Distributed Systems:

For the above topic, I have chosen the Internet as my topic and will write down the observations in the below points. so here we go,

Internet:

• As we all know the distributed system are the collection of the independent computers that are working in such a coherent way that they appear to be a single system. On the Internet also there is the same case there are multiple heterogeneous components working together.
• On the Internet, the distributed system becomes due to the various computer applications and the independent computer operating systems.
• The distributed system is the software layer level which will help in sharing of the resources that are available across the various independent components which will be acting at the same time and will be seeming like a single system to the end client.
• The importance of the network will never be minimized and the network will also become too difficult for the independent components in order to talk to each other and also share the resources until there is no distributed system.
• Hence, the Internet will keep the importance of the network for the distributed systems so that we can freely claim that Internet which comprises of many subsystems is actually a distributed system.
• I have noted down some of the negative impacts it has caused the world since it is existing in this world. They are as follows:
  • Technology has majorly affected the social life of humans. It claims to increase the social life of humans by giving us websites like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. but are they actually increasing our social presence. The answer to it is "No" as in these websites we talk to people whom we don't know from face-to-face relations.
  • There are been claims that 23% of people on social media are fake or are having different identities from which they claim to be on social media. Are we growing social in such kind of conditions and this is not fair to society? Yes, it helps us to know news faster than anything but 37% of the news on social media is also fake.
  • Now, talking about the family after social media no one is connecting as they were connecting on the individual level. The use of video-calls, phone-calls, social media has increased due to which the concept of the nuclear family has been on fire. There are very few joint families living together. According to a study, there are only 7% of families that are currently living as joint families.
  • Use of technologies in schools has also made children dumb as they are spoon-fed everything there. The whole point of research and development has been spooked out as everything now is just a few clicks away. The use of laptops, mobile phones, etc. has also made individuals dumb.
  • There are individuals who earn from websites like Youtube, Tik-Tok, etc. Some of them make educational videos that are useful. But half of the youth is pranking, giving entertainment more space, etc. People have lost faith in pursuing higher studies as they are earning from it a lot.

Hence, these are some of the negative impacts of the Internet on the world and how it is an acclaimed distributed system.
