Almost 70% of old age people need long-term care in America. The U.S Department of Health and Human Services had designed and launched a Campaign in the name 'Own Your Future'. The campaign is well designed in order to make awareness of Long-term care and needs. Through this public policy, the U.S has planned to increase the private financing and to reduce the burden of public financing. The main aim of the campaign is to raise awareness on the public about the long-term needs and plans through motivational messages.
But a lot of challenges such as Disbelief, misinformation, costs, financial risk has met in the campaign. Then measures are taken such as posting of a brochure to every household regarding the information of long-term care, availability of toll-free number to get details of planning kit, advertisements through T.V and radio, and detailed structure and information of planning Kit in the websites. Additionally, conduction of consumer survey to know the targeted people who need the long-term care more.
Further measures can be taken as key messaging of planning guide will be effective. then, developing CLASS plan to directly approach consumer will reduce the complexity of the planning action. Repeated messaging through e-mail is inexpensive but at the same time raise awareness among the people. Real stories of a person under long-term care will help better.
