HEB works on collected donation from people and organizations from different countries. HEB has its own Donation Policies and Guidelines.

HEB has following direct relief services at the time of emergency.
a. Providing aid in times of crisis.
b. HEB’s Emergency Response Team has Disaster Relief Units (DRUs) to support.
c. HEB Mobile Kitchen stationed in different areas and these mobile kitchens distribute much needed food, supplies and water to those in need.
d. HEB has trucks loaded with water for dispatch at the staging areas.
e. HEB has emergency operations center.
f. HEB deploy resources for giving these services at different areas.
Question: Was HEB effective in their crisis response to the COVID-19 Pandemic?
Answer: Yes, HEB is very effective in their crisis response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. HEB calls its employees to make grocery shops active and working at the areas wherein COVID-19 is acute and the shopkeepers are moving away from their shops due to threat. HEB is keeping all the grocery items available like hamburgers and is getting many orders.
HEB’s Covid-19 action and response plan is as follows:
a. Each store will have one dedicated entrance only.
b. Floor markings have been done for customer standing position.
c. We ask customer to send one person one family, to maintain social distancing.
HEB’s strict sanitization protocol:
a. Deep cleaning of the store floors.
b. Sanitization of carts and handles.
c. Employees will have to wear gloves, masks to ensure their safety at work.
HEB has also implemented many guidelines for home delivery and in case if any of its staff members become COVID-19. And, all the employees working with HEB are following the above mentioned guidelines for safety from COVID-19.
HEB is following guidance and advice from medical professionals and other authorities to make the best decisions regarding the health and safety of their employees, customer and the community as a whole.
Question: What improvements would you make to HEB’s crisis management policies and procedures?
Answer: HEB is doing a great job for serving humanity in hard times. However, I believe HEB should improve policies and procedures pertaining to the safety of its own partners in such crisis.
