COVID19 has impacted different individuals in varying ways. Much of this has little to do on differing genetics of the body and more to do with social aspects. After learning about social determinants of health please pick three social determinants and explain how they might help or hinder a person who becomes infected by COVID19.
The following are three social determinants of health that might hinder the person who has covid-19:
1. Access to healthcare services: in the covid-19 pandemic the individuals who have been infected with covid-19 do have access to healthcare but the access is limited and the strain on the healthcare system is higher. This higher load on the healthcare system leads to decreased in attention, quality, support and effective delivery of treatment and care. also the healthcare infrastructure in all area is not uniform to meet the medical needs and treatment of the covid-19 patients. This leads to hindrance off the access to health care of the patient who are infected with covid-19 and if not treated in time could have severe impacts on their life in the longer run.
2. Access to job opportunities: The worst part of disruption by this pandemic of covid-19 was in terms of the economic destruction which final tickles town to loss of employment and job opportunities for the common people. Status of vaccine is unknown and due to which remote working systems have been incorporated by the the big corporations but major part of the economy does not work on technology based systems and have to work in person, for those people who have to physically visit their workplace due to the covid-19 lockdown and shutdown of all the activities the job opportunities have decreased tremendously leading to rise in unemployment and resultant economic downturn. Person infected or affected with covid-19 is surely e going to lose his job and even if you receive any support it will be very limited and not for a long period of time.
3. Availability of resources to meet daily needs: in times of pandemic even the essential daily resources which are required for a person to live such as food and other essential requirements also run in shortages which leads to scarcity of resources for the common people. major hindrance comes for the covid-19 affected people who cannot in-person visit together these resources and the availability of these resources for the infected people are even less and affect their ability to gather this resources. Infected people face the shortages of this resources due to the social distancing and isolation protocols and first and no proper mechanism said to help this particular people leads to hindrance.
