what systems of government existed in Russia before Vladimir Lenin and how did he gain power
When Lenin came home to Russia in
April 1917, the Russian Revolution was already starting. Strikes
over food shortages in March had forced the abdication of the inept
Czar tsar, ending centuries of imperial rule.
Russia came beneath the command of a tentative Government, that
opposed violent social reform and continuing Russian involvement in
war I.
Lenin began plotting associate overthrow of the tentative
Government. To Lenin, the tentative government was a “dictatorship
of the socio-economic class.” He advocated instead for direct rule
by the staff and peasants during a “dictatorship of the
labor.”
By fall of 1917, Russians had become even additional war weary.
Peasants, staff and troopers demanded immediate amendment in what
became called the takeover.
Lenin, alert to the leadership vacuum plaguing Russia, determined
to seize power. He on the QT organized manufacturing plant staff,
peasants, troopers and sailors into Red Guards—a volunteer
personnel. On November seven and eight, 1917, Red Guards captured
tentative Government buildings during a bloodless coup
d’état.
The Bolsheviks condemned power of the govt and announced Soviet
rule, creating Nikolai Lenin leader of the world’s initial
communist state. The new Soviet government concluded Russian
involvement in war I with the pact of Brest-Litovsk.
