Donald Trump won the US presidentship on November 8, 2016. He took the office on January 20, 2017.
He belongs to the Republican Party and his opponent was Hillary Clinton a Democratic candidate.
Trump is always in limelight due to his various policies the recent being immigration policy where children are getting separated from their parents.
At the end of 2017 polls shows that 40 percent American wants President Trump to be impeached.
He was a businessman and real estate developer.
The effort to impeach President Trump had been initiated by two Democratic representatives Mr. Al Green and Brad Sherman.
The basis of impeachment started with a report of hacking of Hillary Clinton's email by Russian spies. The same day Mr. Trump had invited the Russian state to search for 30000 emails that were deleted from her private server. The US intelligence agencies have the reason to say that these emails were hacked to disrupt the presidential election. The time coincided with 12 Russian getting indicted by American Agency. It further relates that an unidentified congress had received documents pertaining to his or her opponent from Russia. These findings were pointing towards Russia interfering in America president ship election and taking side with Mr., Trump.
The Russian spies had even created bogus emails of Hillary Clinton. It is assumed that Russian hackers have used sophisticated technology to influence the election in the US.
Robert Muller has been investigating the possible collusion between Mr. Trump and Russian interference. If proved guilty the process of impeachment is like a trial of any civil officer, there is no judiciary or judge required. It is the House representative to accuse the official against whom the charges are framed whether he a president or any other official, any member of the House can propose charges and simply requires the majority of votes to throw the person out of the power.
There only two presidents in the US history who had faced impeachment were Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton but both were acquitted of the charges.
