Which do you think is more important to performance and effectiveness: hiring followers with high levels of achievement orientation or designing work activities to improve autonomy, mastery, and meaning? Why?
According to my opinion, hiring high-level achievement followers would be more important for the performance and effectiveness of an organization, although both have their own advantages and disadvantages. The process from orientation to its job position taking takes very little time when employees are already skilled and knowledgeable as they can immediately assume their own responsibilities towards their new job. Besides, they need less training and other skillsets as they already have some skills, experience, and knowledge which can make them fit for the job position. So, organizations too don't have to put much effort or spend much money on them and to make them qualified for the job position. This way, they can save a lot of money from the training process. The promotional process also would be much easier as they are much flexible towards their jobs than that of unskilled or less-skilled employees.
Hope this helps :)
