1)There are several reasons that has resulted in increased rate of divorce.Lack on intimacy , infidelity, compatibility issues, addictions, mental illnesses, parental pressure to get married, communication problems, identity loss, inequality between partners are some of the causes. In some cases, mental illnesses such as mood disorders cause rapid decline in marital relationships, financial problems that arise while supporting kids' schooling, loss of job etc put tremendous pressure on the partners.

2) The stabilized rates of marriage can be greatly due to the people's attitude toward it.Research suggest that at this point in time, millennial are pursuing things differently as compared to what their earlier generations did. Now, the partners first settle their job, finances and other socio economic factors before engaging in marriages. The socioeconomic consequences of divorce on ex spouses and children is devastating. This in some cases, affect the well being of the children, either by decreasing the parental conflict (which earlier existed) or by improving the parenting quality time.Researchers say these difficulties -- along with feelings of anxiety, sadness, and low-self-esteem -- become evident once the divorce proceedings officially begin, not before.

3)Step-parenting is likely to be difficult in remarriage because they require more demand and adjustment as compared to first marriages, coupled with more flexible decisions.Keeping expectations from step children, disciplining them, the importance of biological parent can be some of the overlapping potential issues in step parenting.
