Explain how system-level specification and modeling languages are selected for performance evaluation of system-on-chip (SoC) blocked-based designs
->The specification selected should provide the designer with a means of describing a digital system at a wide range of levels of abstraction and at same time provides access to design tools to aid in the design process.
->Specifications should be depending on whether the computational blocks and the channels are timed or un-timed. Totally untimed models enable hardware/software and architectural exploration while totally timed models give better performance indication.
->The orientation of specification towards describing hardware structures and behavior. The storage, retrieval and processing can be performed easily and efficiently.
->Simulation of a system comprising untimed computa-
tional blocks and channels enables an exploration of
different architectures of the hardware-software divide,
while simulation with timed modules enables a rough
estimate of the system performance to be gained.
->Specifications selected should provide rapidly generated prototype of full architecture.
->Specifications should specify, visualize, construct the architecture of system.
->Specifications should describe hardware for the purpose of simulation, modeling, testing, design and documentation.
