As healthcare leaders, we often must deal with hard financial realities. Sometimes those served by organizations are unable to pay, and this leads to decisions about whether to recoup payments and, often, whether to continue to provide services. Over time, an organization’s financial survival may be on the line. When the services provided are ones often fraught with controversy, as with addictions, the decisions can be harder.
What are your thoughts on how to resolve the often-competing goals of providers, payers, executive leadership, consumers, and other stakeholders? Have you had experiences in this area that you would like to share with me?
