As healthcare leaders, we often must deal with hard financial realities. Sometimes those served by organizations are unable to pay, and this leads to decisions about whether to recoup payments and, often, whether to continue to provide services. Over time, an organization’s financial survival may be on the line. When the services provided are ones often fraught with controversy, as with addictions, the decisions can be harder.
What are your thoughts on how to resolve the often-competing goals of providers, payers, executive leadership, consumers, and other stakeholders? Have you had experiences in this area a that you would like to share with me?
Healthcare is the sector that works for the wellbeing of the clients by providing them services and care that are reimburshed later by them or the third party. The concept of payments against health services is crucial as organizations work on funds and resources and these payments helps replinish the resources for use of every individual in need.
In many cases the care has to be restricted or ceased as due to lack of payments and inability of the client to provide the compensations. In such case the erhics play a major role.some cases are the ones where the enhanced care is required due to controversial state of the patient due to drug abuse and substance consumption, it is said that in sich cases providing free of cost services is unfair to other user that have priority risks.
In my opinion cesation of due tk lack of payment and compensation is unethical behavior as per the healthcare responsibilities but the financial model of care suggests appropriate measures to be taken tk be able to replinish resources and let the organizatio work efficiently.
