Ans- 1) Deng Xiaoping wAs a prominent leader of People's Republic of China. He retired at the age of 88 in the year 1992 . He was an advocate of reforms and integration of China with rest of the world . But many leaders were against the reforms . Deng knew that China was in need of development that could be possible only with reformation of the economic system i.e by opening up to the world . Therefore, to spread the agenda and the benefits accrued to it he decided to go for a tour in South China . He visited places like Shenzhen,Zhuhai,Guangzhou and Shanghai . He spread the word among the people about the dire need of reforms and asserted people to walk on this path .
His tour influenced many people and developed a popular mandate for reforms . Hence , China opened up and started integrating with the global economies . Trade flourished in China and since then there is no looking Back . China has left global footprints in international trade after these reforms . Hence , this tour was labelled as an incident of historical significance.
