Expert Solution

The 'germ theory'  of disease and to link a particular pathogen to a disease was proven by Louis Pasteur and this study was further extended by Robert Koch a german scientiest who discovered the pathogen which are related to that specific disease like Cholera,Anthrax,Tuberculosis. He also prostulaed through his studies that a specific pathogen is responsible for a specific disease.By various experiments and studies he invented the method for identification of pathogen linking with the disease.

(a) Robert Koch prostulated that a pathogen is responsible for a specific disease. So this option is correct.

(b) Joseph Lister he invented the idea of sterilized sugery. So this option is incorrect.

(c) Ignaz semmelweis he discovered that sterilizing the hand with disinfectant can reduce the infection the dying mother after child birth. So this option is incorrect.
