Private colleges and state colleges both have their own merits and demerits.
1. Private colleges provide continuous mentoring and feedback. Private colleges take the students as their responsibility; spend lot of time and provide best infrastructure. Faculty at the private colleges provides guidance and customized mentoring. However, the fees in the private colleges are too high. A lot of other expenses also have to be incurred in private colleges. Additionally, private colleges have hectic schedule; there is less focus on personal grooming. Heavy focus is paid on understanding the concepts and less focus is paid on applying the concepts.
2. State college students incur minimal expenditure on their degrees. There is lot huge scope for personal grooming in the state colleges. The lifestyle is not hectic; students get a lot of time to understand and apply the concepts. The guidance and mentoring services are not customized in state colleges. Students will have to struggle by themselves. But the infrastructure provided to them is highly sophisticated. There is no dearth of resources in state colleges.
Having considered merits and demerits of state and private colleges, I believe that state colleges are best compared to private colleges. Students get the freedom to groom themselves with a sophisticated infrastructure at affordable cost. Students are provided with the resources and timely intervention to groom without having to be dependent on the faculty. State colleges provide independence and it is of the greatest assets given the fact that professional education requires free minds to innovate.
