What are three general approaches to obtaining an expert system? Give one advantage and one disadvantage for each approach.
Following are the general approaches to obtaining an expert system, these are as stated below:
Advantage |
Disadvantage |
|
Identification |
Using this approach, we can perform several analysis like Requirement analysis, tasks analysis. Here, we will define requirements, various inputs as needed and various outputs as to be delivered. It also defines people and program those will be associated with this approach. |
This approach needs huge subject matter expertise. Person with expertise must have sufficient time to devote and must be knowledgeable enough to pursue the activities. |
Testing |
With this approach, we evaluate or assess performance of the program, it finds any defects as applicable in the system, it also verifies individual relationship. |
Here, entire evaluation process could include uncertainties and
we may need to use trial and error method for fixing an evaluation,
it also requires specific domain subject matter
expertise. |
Conceptualization |
Using this approach, we will build the map for chosen program, so we can improve interaction level and build better connectivity within the problem domain. |
It requires refinement and we need to add more details to build more specific responses within the problem domain, however, such tasks usually include more uncertainties and changes. |
