This question talks about influencer marketing. It is the marketing process in which a celebrity or a known personality is handpicked by the brand or organization for marketing it's offerings. He shall be the one who closely match with the organizational culture and ethos.
It makes sense as long as the influencer is in sync with the brand persona and the characteristics associated with it.
For instance, a social start up that prevents hunger and promotes safety can choose a social influencer who has worked in the field of preventing malnourishment of school children. They will be able to spread the positive word of mouth about the good cause of the organization.
Using YouTube for marketing products is just a fad as more short time video apps such as Tik-Tok are already taking center stage for promoting products. It depends on the product life cycle and the longevity of the youtuber to sustain his target audience. Many mushrooming video apps have already replaced YouTube and hence, this idea will not work for long time.
