Solutions

Expert Solution

A)

1.Clinical practices are important part of nursing education. Exposure to clinical learning environment is one of the most important factors affecting the teaching-learning process in clinical settings. Meeting with the patient will improve the situation based problems of patients and how to address a patient while seeing first time which will give a positive atmosphere to the patient.

2. Assisting a patient in their daily activities like eye care, mouth care, mobilization etc will improve their mental and physical health .They may feel that they are not alone. A nurse should approach them in a holistic manner.

3. Implementing of some theory which learned from class will boost their confidence and knowledge. For example giving enema is learned from class and the student nurse will apply theory in this situation like providing left lateral position so that the bowel content move freely and applying of gel before applying enema. Feeding is an another example in which nurse will give comfortable sitting position to the patient and mouth care before feeding.

B)

1.Student nurses may be anxious while going to hospital because they cannot apply  some theory into the patient like intubation, central venous insertion beacause any minute mistake will cause harm to the patient. So the nurses should watch the procedure before applying it on patients.

2.Some of the student does not have efficient communication skill because of some language barrier. So they might be anxious while going to hospital because a good communication skill is necessary during a procedure .

3. Some of the patients may develop psychosis because of long hospital stay which will leads to mistrust towards the nurse. A trust relationship and a good interpersonal relationship is very much important in patient care.
