There are different types of counseling; some of them are educational counseling with students and parents, marriage and family counseling with couples and their family, mental health counseling to the mentally ill people, drug addicted people will have substance abuse counseling, guidance and career counseling for the people who are in need of good careers in life.

Some of the advantages of counseling are:

· It improves the general communication of an individual as well as improves his interpersonal skills.

· It enhances self esteem and self-acceptance.

· It makes the individual to change his adamant behavior to some extent.

· After the counseling, we will be able to control our anger and also our emotions in a better manner.

Some of the disadvantages of counseling are:

· There is a chance of making ourselves to feel more personal and touching our emotions more deeply by the counselor.

· You cannot expect the same expected result from everyone after the counseling because it varies from person to person.

· If the counselor does not have in depth knowledge of the situation of the other person, it is difficult for the counselor to handle the problem in a good way, which may lead to confusion.
