Methods to communicate the Vision and Strategic direction to Stakeholders:

Methods to communicate Organization’s Vision:

The company’s vision needs to be clear and precise to reach the audience right away.

The vision should be communicated to all the staff along with the goals to empower them to be more effective. The statement should be mentioned in both internal and external documents like emails, circulars etc.

The vision should be communicated in a positive and enthusiastic way, that will ensure staff to participate positively and achieve them. Internal measures should be taken to ensure that everyone in the company speaks with one voice about the company’s vision.

Efforts to be taken to seek the opinions and ideas of all stakeholders to help drive the vision forward and convey how the vision has a positive impact on every individual’s work life which thereby leads to more employee engagement.

Use as many channels as possible to make the vision reach all stakeholders. They must be communicated and reinforced constantly by utilising all the channels such as internal newsletters, external magazines, brochures, website, induction materials, press releases, social media etc.

Reminder of the success stories demonstrating vision to everyone has bigger and positive impact. The vision should be reviewed regularly and evaluated to ensure that they are still relevant.

Methods to communicate Organization’s Strategy:

The company’s strategic message should be simple, inspiring and easy to relate and understand. The Strategy-specific messages become tools to help employees connect to their day-to-day efforts with the goal of the company.

Building internal campaigns based on market and consumer insights brings the company’s strategy to life for the employees. Such campaigns can be shared broadly with all departments in the organization. This will encourage teams to develop department-specific responses and generate new ideas.

Using Inspire, Educate & Reinforce framework to map and deliver messages:

  • Inspire: Inspiring messages is very important when you are sharing a significant accomplishment or introducing a new initiative that relates to the strategy. It should showcase progress against goals, benefits to customers that gets attention of all stakeholders. It’s all about building optimism, change focus, build curiosity or prepare them for future decisions.
  • Educate: Educate your teams about the strategy and how to execute it successfully by providing job-specific tools with detailed data to apply in their day-to-day responsibilities. Such messages can be sent via dialogues rather than monologues in smaller group sessions where employees can build to their own conclusions and feel ownership in how to implement.
  • Reinforce: It is important to repeat the strategic message so as to increase understanding, imbibe belief leading to a positive change overtime. Such a reinforcement gives them the knowledge and to confidently connect to the strategy. Successful integration of these messages with training and human resource aids to connect them with employee development & performance metrics through recognition and rewarding employees for teams suggesting solutions.

A team of employees should be designated to serve as ambassadors responsible for delivering strategic messages at all levels and annual rotation of this group should be done to get more people involved to represent the strategy of the company.
