Mean Drying Time = = 4.82 / 1= 4.82 Minutes

Answer b) Here, first, find the interval for random numbers as calculated in the below table:

Now, start stimulating the drying time for each of the 12 projects, one by one, as mentioned below:

First, 0.33 Random No. belongs to an interval of 0.14 to 0.44. So, its drying time = 4 Minutes

Second, 0.09 Random No. belongs to an interval of < 0.14. So, its drying time = 3 Minutes.

Similarly, find the drying time for all the 12 projects.
